Advanced CNC controller for up to 12-axes
The ATOM CNC card is a revolution in economical CNC control. It operates completely independently of a computer and incorporates a version of our popular EaziCNC CNC control and programming software.
The ATOM is powerful! With a 200Mhz 32-bit processor, hadware floating-point, 32MB of RAM (that's 1024x the RAM of the X-series controllers!), a graphical display & UI, USB & SD-card memory support for programme uploads & storage, support for USB keyboards & mice and plenty of motor control & IO options.
As desktop and laptop computers increasingly no longer support parallel ports or serial ports and tablets and alternative computing devices become more popular the ATOM is able to operate without a computer attached. In fact the ATOM is a complete computer with all the features required to programme and operate any CNC machine.
Of course if you really do want to control things from your existing computer you can still do that too with an RS232 interface or USB connection available.

- 12-axis control - up to 9-axis with full quadrature encoder feedback - digital signals (STEPBUS) for easy connection to our stepper motor drives or discrete STEP & DIRECTION outputs for 3rd-party or opto-isolated drives. NB. To control 7- to 10-axes with discrete outputs an additional X641SC card will be required. For 11- to 12-axes with discrete outputs 2x X641SC cards are required. 6-axes via STEPBUS and 6-axes via discrete outputs requires no additional hardware.
- 12-limit switch inputs which can also be used as general purpose inputs or digital-outputs.
- 8-key switch inputs which can also be used as general purpose inputs or digital-outputs - typical uses include dedicated jog-buttons, stop/start buttons, indicators and alarms.
- 9-quadrature encoder inputs - typical uses include positional feedback for the motors, a jog/hand-wheel, spindle-speed override or feed-rate override.
- 4-analogue inputs with 10-bit ADC resolution.
- Spindle on/off, coolant on/off and 5 auxiliary 12-volt relay drivers - the spindle, coolant and one auxiliary relay output are safety interlocked.
- Optically isolated analogue speed control output.
- 200Mhz 32-bit processor with FPU, 32MB RAM memory.
- 15-pin VGA connector - supports 4/3 or widescreen conventional or LCD displays.
- 2xUSB for storage, keyboard or computer connection and 1xMicroSD-card for storage.
- RS232 serial port for computer interfacing or external control.
- Built-in EaziCNC programme editor and CNC control software.
- Battery-backed clock and calendar.
- Operates from a single supply voltage - 12-40 VDC. This allows the card to be powered by the same supply as typical stepper motor drive cards.
- Measures 130x80x20mm. Mounting points 4xM3 on a 112x72mm pattern.
